Hello there, pilot! How are your lessons going? Let’s talk about grind and upgrade shall we?
Here's a detail that often slips the minds of most cadets: in Cosmik Battle, pilots have the option to destroy unwanted cards in exchange for a partial refund of the resources spent to craft the Booster. We call that destruction process the “Grind”. Grinding Core Cards yields 80 Galactic Credits, while grinding Premium Cards yields 8 Aurium. To grind your cards, navigate to the Nexus and select the card you want to grind. A pop-up will display all duplicate cards you possess. Simply follow the instructions provided. Be careful though, the Grind destroys the cards for good!
Remember lesson #2, where we discussed the distinction between Core and Premium Cards. As you may recall, Premium Cards were introduced as Digital Collectibles. Unlike Core Cards, Premium Cards can be traded and UPGRADED. Now, let's delve into the topic of upgrades. In Cosmik Battle, players can acquire gold cards. Upon entering the Forge, you'll notice two choices: craft and upgrade. It’s in the Upgrade section that you will be able to obtain these gleaming treasures. It's important to note that the card upgrade mechanic solely affects the cosmetic appearance of the card and does not impact its effectiveness or abilities.
Gold cards are the most elusive and coveted cards in the game, requiring significant effort to obtain. They are intentionally kept scarce to maintain their exceptionally high value. The recipe for the craft involves spending Aurium and BURNING a certain amount of Premium Card duplicates :
- Gold Common : Burn 10 Premium Card duplicates + 40 Aurium
- Gold Uncommon : Burn 6 Premium Card duplicates + 40 Aurium
- Gold Rare : Burn 4 Premium Card duplicates + 40 Aurium
- Gold Mythic : Burn 2 Premium Card duplicates + 40 Aurium
Here are some additional key information to remember:
- "Duplicates" refer to having multiple copies of the same card. For instance, let's consider crafting a Gold Nano Boost. As Nano Boost is a Rare Card, you'll need 4 Nano Boost cards and 40 Aurium to obtain a golden one.
- When upgrading to Gold Cards, you must "burn" the duplicates, meaning you'll lose all duplicates once you acquire the gold version of the card.
- It is important to differentiate between "burning" and "grinding." Grinding involves destroying a card to regain a certain amount of resources, whereas burning involves destroying cards to upgrade a Premium Card. You won't receive resources back through burning, but if all conditions are met, you'll obtain a Gold Card. Remember, cards must be burned as a batch in the upgrade section. Grinding cards duplicates outside the “upgrade” menu WILL NOT qualify you for the upgrade!
- Gold Cards are Digital Collectibles, they can therefore be traded on our Marketplace.
- Like any other cards, the upgraded cards can be grinded individually but they will grant you 8 Aurium, no matter the scarcity.
