Greetings, cadet! It's me again, Toxoplasmo, this time for a workshop related to the account management.
Before diving in, let's clarify two key concepts: your ACCOUNT is your personal space in Cosmik Battle, secured by your email and password. Your WALLET, which is your digital portfolio provided by Cometh, is permanently linked to your ACCOUNT. Managing access to both your account and wallet differs fundamentally.
Thanks to Cometh Connect, you only need an email and a password to create and manage an account in Cosmik Battle. If you lose your password, a "Forgotten Password" recovery feature is available on the game's login page. The password reset process follows a standard procedure through emails sent to the user.
After reading our Wallet Management workshop, you should know that Cosmik Battle uses its proprietary solution, Cometh Connect, to provide players with a wallet for storing all their Digital Collectibles. Cometh Connect operates using a feature called "Passkey," a Web2 account management standard. Passkeys grant you access to your wallet and are stored on your device, allowing you to access your self-custodial wallet without needing to remember a seed phrase.
Since passkeys are stored on the devices, this has two implications:
- You can only manage and operate transactions with your wallet on a device that is AUTHORIZED. What does AUTHORIZED mean? It means that a passkey has been stored on that device, allowing it to manage the wallet.
- You can access your account and view its content on an UNAUTHORIZED DEVICE (where no passkeys have been stored), but you cannot interact with the wallet. Let's look at a simple example.
AUTHORIZED DEVICE: A device that has stored a passkey, allowing you to manage your wallet.
UNAUTHORIZED DEVICE: A device that has not stored a passkey. While you can play with your ACCOUNT and view the Collectibles stored in your wallet, you cannot perform on-chain transactions affecting the wallet's contents.
The system of AUTHORIZED devices serves as a safety measure, ensuring that only you, the owner of the Cosmik Wallet, can perform transactions with it. Now, what happens if you lose access to the device where your passkey is stored? Or, what if you want to change your laptop or play on multiple devices? We've got you covered!
In this situation, you have access to an AUTHORIZED DEVICE but want to play Cosmik Battle and manage your wallet on another device. The game allows you to add a new AUTHORIZED DEVICE.
To authorize a new device, follow this process carefully. You will need the new device (duh) and an already AUTHORIZED DEVICE.
If the device you are usig hasn’t been authorized yet you should see this confirmation
Just below appears all the devices that have been authorized. The address that you see here is NOT a wallet address, it is the reference of the passkey store in the AUTHORIZED DEVICE, you don’t need to worry about this.
Congrats, the new device has now been authorized! You can now on use this device to manage your Cosmik Wallet! You may have to log-out / log-in on the new device again.
How do I know if my device is authorized? Super simple, come back on the Wallet menu, instead of seeing “Unknown device”, you should now see the amount of ETH you own on that Wallet.
You might need to proceed with a wallet recovery procedure in two situations:
The recovery process is similar to adding a new device, with the key difference being that you do not need access to an existing authorized device. At the end of the recovery process, the device on which you initiated the recovery will become an authorized device.
If your are in one of those situations, follow these steps
Upon clicking, the recovery process will begin. It takes 24 hours to complete, and you can track its progress in the wallet menu.
Once the recovery is complete, the orange indicator will turn green, and the device will be authorized. You will not be able to manage your wallet until the recovery is fully finalized.
IMPORTANT
When you launch the recovery process, you will receive several confirmation messages and cancellation options:
Why is this important? Imagine if someone gains access to your email and password. If this intruder initiates a recovery process, you could permanently lose control of your Cosmik Wallet. We want to prevent this scenario. In such a situation, even though you haven't lost access to your account, you can cancel the recovery process on your authorized devices. Alternatively, if you recover the authorized device you thought was lost and want to cancel the recovery, you can do so.

- Never share your account credentials with anyone. Cometh will never request your password!
- Ensure you receive emails from Cosmik Battle to stay informed in case someone gains access to your account and initiates a recovery process.
