Mission Control #22 - Commencing Transmission
Attention, Pilot! We're hitting turbulence ahead. The apocalypse is near, so buckle up—things are about to get intense!
Cometh Corp is experimenting with ways to shorten game durations without affecting the core mechanics. Here comes the Apocalypse. The goal? Avoid games that last an eternity while maintaining the strategic depth you love. Cosmik Battle should be about intensity and chaos.
Is the Apocalypse going to stay? We are entering a testing phase during which we will collect players’ feedback and comments. Nothing is set in stone! We will improve, adapt, improve Apocalypse if need be or simply remove this feature if it doesn’t serve the game well.
When does it start? Apocalypse kicks in at turn 20, which is when each player has taken 10 turns.
What happens? At the start of each turn, the players ship of that turn takes piercing damage equal to the Apocalypse level.
How does it escalate? The Apocalypse level increases by 1 every 2 turns, meaning each time both players complete a turn, the heat gets turned up!
For example:
--> Turns 20 and 21: Apocalypse Level 1 => 1 Piercing Damage
--> Turns 22 and 23: Apocalypse Level 2 => 2 Piercing Damage
